~snow angel~

So...the memorial service for Zach was this morning. I chose not to go but wish I would have. I was so honored to help with the slideshow. Monday night I went over and Sara, her mom, and I watched it all together. We all did alright until the final pictures. They are of Zach making a snow angel and then his snow angel all finished. I love his look of pure delight in the first picture. Sara's mom told me the story of how he was so excited and how there was just enough snow. Sara looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, "It's beautiful!" That's when it hit me that it wasn't me who made the slideshow, it was her. She did a beautiful job as a mother. She captured the beautiful moments that made Zach's life. She made those moments happen.

Thank you for sharing Zach with us all. Thank you for your strength and dedication through the good and the bad. Thank you for being an example to all the moms in the world. You now have a little angel looking after you. Like we joked, I'm not sure if that's good or bad :)
