~happiness~

There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy. By being happy we sow anonymous benefits upon the world. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

I am obsessed with journals. I have quite a few roaming around the house. I don't necessarily journal often but I usually make lists or if an idea pops in my head, I write it down...or if the kids say something cute...

Anyway, yesterday morning I woke up with Scott at 5:30! I was just awake and feeling so good! By 7:30 I had gotten so much accomplished that I sat down with one of my journals. I wrote:

It's only 7:30 AM and here are the things that have made me happy today ~
~I Samuel 16:7
~the sunrise
~doing a load of laundry and emptying the dishwasher
~finding army men in Simon's short pockets...it's the little things
~getting a shower (like I said...the little things)
~surprising Scott by making his sandwich (even though he asked me to last night...)
~Jonah yelling from the computer, "DUDE! You gotta be kidding me! DUDE!"

~Addition to my list: Trinity woke up later and all she wanted to wear today was her princess swimsuit.

Then right after I finished this list, Simon crawled up on my lap and we went through the alphabet and then he wanted to write his name (for the first time!) and that turned into a whole drawing...

Can you guess the story? He loves it right now...something about the fascination of not being able to put him back together. I love the King's man and horse to the right side!

This is another picture I've been meaning to post. We made cupcakes Monday morning before I left to my newborn shoot. It gets too hot to cook in the afternoon or evening. They all have to "help".
