{stopping by woods}

{stopping by woods}, originally uploaded by ~paula~.

*Scott and I made a special trip up into the mountains the day before we left Colorado. It was so peaceful up there. Scott spotted a little group of aspen up the hill. I stomped through the knee-deep snow to get some pictures. I could have stayed there a lot longer. I love this poem by Robert Frost.*

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

~sedona weekend~

I just spent an excellent weekend in Sedona. We went up for my brother-in-law's wedding Saturday (which I will show pictures soon) but also went camping, hiking, and played in the creek on Sunday. It was a perfect break to refresh and refocus. This week I have decided to NOT view any other people's blogs and take that time to blog. I also have a couple projects that need to get done and I want to start working on a new UPDATED website!

My view from the creek in Sedona!

We kept hearing the song "Mighty to Save" on the radio and made that our theme song for the weekend. The lyrics say, "Jesus, He can move the mountains, our God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save!"

Something a little different tonight! Another photog recently asked people to find things in their lives are full of beauty. Here is a leaf from the San Diego trip. Something little. Something beauty full.

No, it didn't snow here in Phoenix. I took this on the way back from Colorado on Sunday in Flagstaff! I had a fantastic week visiting with family. I think Scott told me it was the best kind of vacation. We got to sleep in almost every day and just relax and do things at our own pace. Ahhh! I'm so thankful that we got to go.

Now that I am full back into the swing of things, I haven't had time to sit down and just think about what's next. I guess that's a good thing. Maybe I'll look at a calendar after Valentine's Day is over. ;)

I do want to thank the ladies and customers of Leidan Mitchell Salon & Spa for the incredible time I spent with them recently. This place recently opened on Queen Creek Road. It is gorgeous! Go check it out!

*If for some reason I have not responded to an e-mail or phone call, please please please do not take this personal and try me again. I am trying to get caught up. You all and three little munchkins are keeping me so busy! :) Not complaining though...SO THANKFUL!!!

What a beautiful mountain!

But wait, what's that white dot on top?

Yes, it is my husband and children! The most awful thing was that I was talking Scott on the cell phone and he kept saying, "Hey, get away from that edge!"

Once again, I apologize to my mom for all my shenanigans. So sorry!

I do want to thank my husband who did an awesome job watching the kids while I did my photo sessions. I know it's a hard job but you rocked it out and I appreciate you so much! I know they are going to remember these times with you forever.

~Fourth of July 2008~

My eyes welled up with tears as the the song "God Bless the USA" played over the loud speaker. A rush of good memories came back of when I was young and my Dad and I sang it together for special events. Simon and Jonah were laying beside me on the blanket while Trinity curled up on Missy, who was sitting in a lawnchair behind us covering Trinity's ears from the loud explosions. Vanessa, Papa, and Nana were also sitting in lawnchairs behind us and Scott was standing beside them with the camera on a tripod chuckling as I heard the click of the shutter faintly after each boom. I was overwhelmed with gratefulness... my husband, children, extended family, friends, and especially on this day...my country. God bless the USA!

~Jonah told me he has a like a hundred stuff to do so I better let him get his "work" done. He just said, "I think you're done, Mom. Bring your list over to me and I will line it." (put a line through it)

I've "lined" a lot of things this weekend.

~landscape~

Every once in a while, I get the chance to break out of my routine and take some pictures of something that I don't have to chase or pose :) I love landscape and the awe of what God has made. I posted these on the forum so I thought I might as well bring them over here since they were already uploaded. We are so blessed to live in a such a beautiful country.
